We also went to the annual regatta that takes place the first weekend of August. I (Chrissie) have many for memories of competing in the kids swim races at the regatta and so it was fun watching my little cousin Emmet compete (he won 3rd place in the long distance swim race and 1st place in the short-distance race for his age category):
We were all pretty proud of him!
There are also many land events for the little kids, so we entered Miriam in the 3-and-under Straight Race and the Sucker Scramble. Since she can't walk on her own yet, we had to participate with her and it seems all the other parents had the same idea:
It was pretty hilarious.
She did get a sucker but we didn't let her eat it!
It was a pretty fun day and Miriam won a new bucket and shovel for participating:
We also enjoyed just hanging out at the cottage and watching Miriam experience The Lake. We discovered that she LOVES watermelon...she'd eat a whole watermelon if we let her:
And she got to spend lots of time with her Grandma and Grandpa and Aunties and Uncles:
