Operation Get-Over-Jet-Lag: In Progress

When planning this trip, we were given some advice that has proven to be very useful to us: plan 3 days at the beginning of the trip to give yourselves a chance to get over jet-lag. If you've ever traveled a long distance you know that jet-lag is brutal. We both feel like we're in a fog for the first few days of a trip abroad, which makes it hard to enjoy the place we're in and the people we're with.
We decided to heed this advice and are so glad we did! We're about 2/3 of the way through our 3 days and already we're finding this is our best getting-over-jet-lag-experience to date. Miriam seems to be catching on rather quickly too!

We spent yesterday and today roaming about Salzburg, just enjoying the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of one of our favourite places in the world.

Miriam enjoyed a few firsts:

She got to see the house where Mozart was born,

and taste her first ice cream.

She also tried sparking water for the first time. This was her reaction:

But she really enjoyed her first time chasing pigeons with her daddy.

We strolled, enjoyed open-air markets, took in some beautiful views, and ate some tasty Austrian food (and had a few good naps!).

We made our way to St. Wolfgang am See this afternoon where we'll spend the last day of our get-over-jet-lag time. We'll try to post some more pictures in a few days!

  2. Glad to hear the trip is going well, and that god provided on the way out there! (With the ability to get to all of your flights, and great fortunes!)
Will be following along the entire way.
Just FYI, the house is seriously completely fine, and all is good here.
